Wooli's main beach is a stunning stretch of golden sand where the Wooli River meets the Pacific Ocean on the NSW North Coast. The rocky headlands at either end of the beach form sheltered tidal rock pools and shallow reefs teeming with marine life, making this a prime shore-entry snorkel spot. Part of the Solitary Islands Marine Park, the clear, calm inshore waters offer easy access to colourful temperate reef gardens, perfect for beginners and families. The village of Wooli remains blissfully uncrowded, giving visitors a true coastal wilderness feel.

Moderate risk: Rip Currents
Occasional rip currents can develop along the open beach, especially after larger swell events. Swim between the flags when lifeguards are present.
Low risk: Outgoing Tide Current
The Wooli River estuary outflow can create strong outgoing currents at the northern end of the beach near the river mouth, particularly on an ebb tide.
Low risk: Bluebottle Jellyfish
Bluebottles (Physalia physalis) can drift inshore with northerly winds and currents, typically peaking in summer months.
Low risk: Sharp Reef Rock
The rocky headland areas have exposed reef with sharp barnacles and rock oysters. Reef shoes recommended when entering the water over rock platforms.
