Once a busy port with historic lime kilns built into the cliff face, Wool Bay Jetty on the east coast of Yorke Peninsula is widely regarded as the best spot in South Australia to spot the elusive leafy sea dragon. Set in shallow, sheltered waters 3-5 metres deep, this jetty offers easy access via steps on the right-hand side. The seagrass meadows along the northern side teem with wobbegongs, eagle rays, bullseyes, old wives, and goat fish. Unlike other Yorke Peninsula jetties with colourful soft corals, Wool Bay has a lush green "garden" feel, making for a unique underwater experience perfect for beginners and families.
