Tucked into the southern corner of Surf Beach on the NSW South Coast, Wimbie Beach is a quiet 250-metre pebbly crescent offering gentle shore-entry snorkeling straight off the beach. Part of the Batemans Bay Snorkelling Trail, its shallow inshore waters feature a mosaic of rocky reefs and seaweed beds that shelter small reef fish, while the adjacent headlands create a sheltered nook ideal for novice snorkelers. The beach sits within the Batemans Marine Park, providing protected habitat for diverse marine life. Low wave energy (averaging 0.5 m) and a general hazard rating of 3/10 make it one of the more forgiving options in the area.

Low risk: Pebbly/sharp shoreline
The beach is composed of colourful pebbles rather than sand, which can be uncomfortable underfoot when entering and exiting the water.
Low risk: Swell exposure during easterlies
While generally sheltered, ocean swells can occasionally break over submerged rocky ridges if winds shift easterly, reducing water clarity and safety.
