Tucked between Byron Bay and Lennox Head, Whites Beach offers a secluded headland snorkelling spot where crystalline waters meet rocky reef habitats. The beach comprises three small sand pockets backed by cobble beaches and lush coastal vegetation. Snorkelling around the Broken Head headland rewards explorers with temperate reef life when the ocean swell is calm, making this peaceful cove a serene alternative to Byron Bay's busier beaches.

Moderate risk: Strong rip currents
This beach is unpatrolled and can have strong rips, especially along the headland. Swim with caution.
Low risk: Swell exposure / ocean surge
Snorkelling conditions depend heavily on a calm ocean swell. Southern swells can create dangerous surge conditions around the rocky headland.
Low risk: Rocky shore entry / cobbles
Rocks and cobbles line the shore and reef edges. Care needed when entering and exiting the water.
