Tucked beneath a towering escarpment in the southern reaches of Royal National Park, Werrong Beach is a wild, secluded stretch of shoreline accessible via a steep 4 km grade-5 track through lush cabbage-tree-palm rainforest. The beach is an official nudist destination, scattered with weathered driftwood and multi-coloured pebbles, framed by forest-clad cliffs and sandstone outcrops rising from the shallows. Despite its beauty, the surf is dangerously rough — this is a place to soak up the raw coastal scenery, not to swim.
