Wauraltee Beach is a pristine, mile-long stretch of white sand on Yorke Peninsula's west coast, halfway between Port Victoria and Port Rickaby. Sheltered dunes back turquoise waters that are home to resident dolphins and stingrays. The beach offers excellent shore-entry snorkeling along shallow tidal flats, with the best conditions on calm, light-wind days. The surrounding bush campground has basic facilities, and the beach is a popular spot for camping, swimming, and snorkeling — with stunning sunsets over the water.

Moderate risk: Vehicle traffic on beach
The beach is a public road where vehicles (including 4WDs and vans) drive and park, creating a hazard for swimmers and snorkelers.
Low risk: Strong westerly wind chop
When a strong westerly wind blows, the beach becomes rough and conditions deteriorate for snorkeling.
Low risk: Soft sand / vehicle bogging risk
Soft patches of sand near dunes can bog vehicles, and beach driving requires care near soft sections and departure angles.

Parking available at the formal Wauraltee Bush Campground behind the dunes. Vehicle access onto the beach itself is permitted for day use and boat launching, though overnight camping on the beach was restricted from February 2025. Unregistered vehicles are not permitted on the beach.
Bush campground: $20 per vehicle per night (or $100 for 5 nights, $300 per month). Camping on the beach (Crown Land) was previously free but is now discouraged and restricted as of Feb 2025.
