Tucked along the wild Cape Liptrap coastline in South Gippsland, Walkerville Beach offers a ruggedly beautiful snorkeling experience away from the crowds. The protected sandy coves sit within the Cape Liptrap Coastal Park, where clear waters meet rocky reef platforms scattered with kelp gardens. This secluded stretch is known for its calm summer conditions, making it a peaceful alternative to busier Mornington Peninsula spots. The nearby foreshore reserve provides camping, and the beach is accessed via a short track from the car park — a true coastal gem for those willing to venture south.

Low risk: Boat traffic near ramp
Walkerville South beach has a boat launching ramp; vehicle and trailer traffic on the beach during launching can be a hazard for swimmers and snorkelers.
Low risk: Limited parking congestion
Parking at Walkerville South is extremely limited. The lower car park fills quickly in summer, requiring a walk from the upper car park.
Low risk: Rocky shoreline and submerged rocks
The beach has rocky areas and submerged reef edges near the lime kilns that can be sharp underfoot. Wear reef shoes or booties when entering the water.
Low risk: Swell and wind conditions
Exposed to southerly and south-westerly winds which can kick up chop and reduce visibility. Check conditions before entering.
