Stretching 7 km of unspoilt coastline between Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads, Tyagarah Beach offers a wild and uncrowded snorkeling experience within Tyagarah Nature Reserve. This north-facing beach features soft white sand and clear waters that invite exploration of the shallow nearshore sandbars and rocky reef edges. The backdrop of coastal heath and dunes makes it a tranquil alternative to Byron's busier beaches, with excellent offshore visibility during calm conditions.

Moderate risk: No lifeguard patrol
There are no red-and-yellow flagged swimming areas or lifeguard services at this beach; swimmers and snorkelers are entirely responsible for their own safety.
Low risk: Limited mobile reception
Mobile phone coverage is poor in Tyagarah Nature Reserve, making emergency calls difficult in the event of an incident.
