Twilight Beach (Twilight Bay) is one of Esperance's most iconic coastal gems, where impossibly white sand meets glass-clear turquoise waters framed by gently rounded granite headlands. The bay's western end features a sheltered cove with a natural swimming hole protected by rocky outcrops, creating calm, shallow conditions ideal for snorkelling. The granite boulders and seagrass meadows around the headland host a surprising variety of marine life, while the main bay offers a stunning open-water backdrop. Patrolled in summer and renowned as the safest swimming and surfing beach in the Esperance area, Twilight Beach combines breathtaking scenery with accessible, family-friendly underwater exploration.

Moderate risk: Occasional swell surge
Southern Ocean swells can bring strong surge into the cove, reducing visibility and making entry and exit tricky.
Low risk: Rip currents outside patrolled zone
The western patrolled area is safest; outside this zone, rips and currents can appear, especially near the headland — most active during the warmer months.
Low risk: Sharp rocks and slippery surfaces
Granite rocks around the headland can be sharp and slippery; barnacles and sea urchins present a cut risk.
