Just south of the Queensland-NSW border, the Tweed River Entrance offers a unique shore-entry snorkel along a rocky breakwall near Twin Towns Services Club. This tidal river mouth delivers surprisingly clear water on the right day, especially at high tide when ocean water flushes in. Snorkellers drift along the submerged rock wall, peering into crevices teeming with fish, moray eels, nudibranchs, and the occasional wobbegong shark or octopus. The site is also dotted with quirky artificial reef items like a shopping trolley and a submerged Buddha statue, adding an offbeat exploratory element to every swim.
