The Triabunna area on Tasmania's east coast offers several calm, sheltered swimming and snorkeling beaches along the sparkling coastline between Orford and Little Swanport. Boltons Beach, just north of Triabunna, is the standout — a secluded 4 km stretch of clean white sand with aqua-blue waters perfect for gentle snorkeling and family swimming. The region sits in the rain shadow of Maria Island, creating clearer, calmer conditions than exposed ocean beaches. These unpatrolled beaches provide a peaceful alternative to the busier Freycinet hotspots, with shallow sandy entry points ideal for beginner snorkelers exploring temperate Tasmanian waters.
