Tomakin Beach (also known as Tomakin Cove) is a protected, sandy cove with shallow lagoon-like qualities on the NSW South Coast, about 18 km south of Batemans Bay. Sheltered by rocky outcrops on three sides, the calm, clear waters create an ideal environment for novice snorkellers, families, and groups. The sandy bottom transitions into rocky reef habitats where kelp gardens and seagrass beds support a diverse array of fish life. Part of the Batemans Marine Park, this spot offers a safe, easy-access snorkeling experience with minimal current under favourable conditions.

Rocky outcrops surrounding the cove can be exposed and jagged at low tide; care needed when entering and exiting the water.
Low risk: Easterly swell
Though generally sheltered, strong easterly winds can push ocean swells into the cove, creating choppy conditions.

Bluebottle jellyfish may occasionally drift into the cove during north-east winds, particularly in summer.
