Tipplers sits on the northwestern shore of South Stradbroke Island, a vast 22 km sand island accessible only by boat. Snorkelers explore the calm, protected waters of Tipplers Passage and The Broadwater, where shallow seagrass beds host turtles and rays. The eastern surf beach offers a wilder contrast — patrolled swimming is absent, but the island's isolation rewards with golden wallabies, nesting sea turtles (October–March), migrating humpbacks (June–October), and dugongs in the seagrass. A licensed café and campground make for an easy day trip or overnight escape.
