The Sisters is a striking limestone reef formation in Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, off Rockingham's coast in Perth's south. Named for the cluster of rocks that break the surface, this cavernous reef system offers otherworldly snorkelling through underwater nooks, swim-throughs, and rocky channels teeming with marine life. The reef's varying depths — averaging 7 metres — and its proximity to open ocean make it best tackled on calm days when the Indian Ocean settles. As part of a protected marine park, the waters here are pristine, drawing snorkellers looking for an adventurous reef exploration beyond the usual beach-entry spots.
