The Dragin II is a sunken fishing trawler wreck lying off South Stradbroke Island, just north of the Jumpinpin bar on the Gold Coast. Sunk in 1983 and sometimes called the Sea Dragon, this artificial reef sits in shallow enough water for snorkelers to explore its encrusted hull. The wreck has become a haven for marine growth including soft corals and sponges, attracting schooling reef fish, rays, and wobbegong sharks. Access is by boat only from the Gold Coast or South Stradbroke Island, making it a quiet, off-the-beaten-path site for adventurous snorkelers.
