The Docks is the most popular dive and snorkel site inside Jervis Bay, on the NSW South Coast. This sheltered site lies just inside the northern headland, where dramatic sandstone walls plunge into clear temperate waters, honeycombed with ledges, swim-throughs and small caverns to explore. The rocky reef is blanketed in colourful sponge gardens with gorgonians, sea tulips and bryozoans, while the sandy gutters between the boulders hide stingarees and flatheads. The site's resident eastern blue groper — the state fish of NSW — is famously cheeky and will often swim right up to snorkellers looking for a handout. Grey nurse sharks, wobbegongs, blue devil fish and big stingrays are regularly spotted. With depths ranging from 5–21m, it works well for both snorkellers hugging the reef top and divers descending the walls.

Getting in
The Docks is a boat-access site located on the north side of Jervis Bay, just inside the heads near the entrance to the bay. The closest launch point is from Huskisson or Vincentia, where charter operators (e.g. Dive Jervis Bay) run trips. Private boaters launch from the boat ramp at Huskisson (Currambene Creek). The site is marked by a rocky headland with underwater walls dropping to 21m.
Parking is available at the Huskisson boat ramp (Fishermans Wharf) and along the Huskisson waterfront. Arrive early on summer weekends as the lot fills quickly.
No entry fee. Charter boat trips from Huskisson cost approximately $90–$150 per person depending on trip duration and gear hire.
