The Cord is a dramatic natural rock pool on Norfolk Island's southern coast, carved into the volcanic reef platform and accessible only via a short cliff-side descent. This sheltered, tide-filled pool offers crystal-clear water teeming with colourful anemones and coral formations, making it a unique snorkelling experience away from the island's main beaches. The exposed rock shelf and pounding surf create a raw, wild setting that feels like a private natural aquarium. Best visited at low tide when the pool is calm and visibility is at its peak.
