The Coombe Reserve sits on the Swan River in Mosman Park, offering unique shore-entry snorkelling and diving over multiple deliberately sunk wrecks at varying depths. The site features both shallow and deep wreck trails — including a 12-metre wooden boat, a 19-metre yacht, and a 21-metre barge — connected by pole markers through the riverbed. Visibility typically ranges from 3–4 metres but can open up beneath the freshwater layer in the saline tidal wedge. This protected river location makes it a popular all-weather alternative to ocean snorkelling, though divers must contend with boat traffic and mooring lines. The grassy reserve provides a pleasant spot to gear up before entering the calm waters of Mosman Bay.

Moderate risk: Boat traffic and mooring lines
The Coombe is located in a busy mooring area. Snorkellers and divers should always surface near a mooring or deploy a DSMB to avoid being struck.
Moderate risk: Submerged wreckage and entanglement
The wrecks are scuttled vessels with broken wood, metal wreckage, and entanglement hazards at multiple depth levels.
Low risk: Poor surface visibility
Surface visibility can drop below 30 cm after rainfall or windy conditions, with a distinct freshwater layer sitting above clearer saltwater beneath 4 metres.
Low risk: Tidal currents
River currents associated with tidal flows, particularly in the deeper wreck trail area. The saline tidal wedge shifts with the tide.
