Moderate risk: Low tide timing critical
The sea caves and rock platforms are only safely accessible at low tide. Incoming tide can rapidly cut off access.
Moderate risk: Strong currents and swell
Exposed coastal location can experience sudden swell and rip currents, especially around the cave mouths.
Low risk: Slippery rocks
Sandstone rock platforms become extremely slippery when wet, posing a fall risk.
Low risk: Cool water temperatures
Southern Ocean waters remain cold year-round (12-18°C), increasing risk of cold shock and requiring a wetsuit.
