Point Quobba's Blowholes is a spectacular coral-filled lagoon where ocean surges erupt through crevasses in the limestone platform, creating dramatic blowhole plumes. Sheltered behind the reef, the calm lagoon offers crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkeling among colourful corals. The striking contrast of turquoise water against the rugged pink-and-grey limestone coastline, with white sandy beaches and abundant marine life, makes this a beloved family snorkel spot. Located about 75 km north of Carnarvon on the Coral Coast, it's best visited at high tide when the blowholes are most active and the 'Aquarium' comes alive.

Moderate risk: Blowhole surge zone
Stay well clear of the blowhole openings — waves surge up through crevasses with great force and can cause serious injury.
Moderate risk: Sharp limestone reef
The limestone platform is razor-sharp and uneven. Wear reef shoes or booties to avoid cuts.
Low risk: Tidal currents at lagoon entrance
Water moves in and out of the lagoon with tide changes. Strong flushing currents can occur near the reef openings.
Low risk: Marine stingers
Box jellyfish and other marine stingers may be present in warmer months. Check local warnings.
