The Arch (also known as Guerilla Bay Arch) is a spectacular natural rock formation tucked away just 250 m from a small car park near Batemans Bay on the NSW South Coast. Unlike the crowded rock arches further south, this hidden gem sits in a sheltered cove with crystal-clear waters that are perfect for snorkelling. The short walk crosses grippy rock platforms and a shallow rockpool area; bring water shoes for comfort. The sheltered southern bay offers calm conditions and diverse marine life among seaweed-covered rocks and crevices, making it a rewarding spot for beginners and families.

Moderate risk: Swell exposure on access rocks
The short rock crossing to reach the arch is exposed to ocean swell. Avoid in rough conditions.
Low risk: Sharp rocks
The rock platforms and base of the arch have sharp, rough edges that can cut bare feet. Water shoes are strongly recommended.
Low risk: Tide timing
Best accessed 2 hours either side of low tide. At higher tides the shallow crossing under the arch may be submerged or slippery.

Getting in
From Batemans Bay, drive south on the Princes Highway for about 15 minutes. Turn onto Guerilla Bay Road and follow it to the small parking area at the end (marked on Google Maps as Guerilla Bay Parking). From the carpark, follow the sandy path 50 m to the beach, head right across the rock platform into the next cove, then scramble over or around the rock wall to reach the Arch.
Small unpaved parking area at the end of Guerilla Bay Road. No marked spaces but fits several cars.
