Tucked within Conway National Park, Swamp Bay is a secluded pebbly beach fringed by dense rainforest and looking out across the water to Daydream Island. This quiet spot rewards snorkellers who kayak or walk in with calm, clear waters over fringing reef — a peaceful alternative to the busier island snorkel sites. The bay sits within marine park zoning protecting the intertidal zone, offering a chance to explore shallow coral gardens and reef-flat habitats in a genuinely wild, off-the-beaten-path setting.

Moderate risk: Marine stingers
Marine stingers (box jellyfish and Irukandji) are present in Whitsunday waters during the warmer months, from October to May.
Low risk: Southeasterly wind chop
The bay is exposed to prevailing southeasterly winds, which can create choppy surface conditions and reduced visibility, particularly in winter and spring.
Low risk: Steep bushwalking trail
Access by foot involves a steep, uneven trail through rainforest; the track can be slippery after rain and requires sturdy footwear.
Low risk: Restricted anchoring & shallow reef
Anchoring is restricted inside the cove's reef protection markers — shallow draft boats only at mid to high tide.
