Svendsen's Beach is a secluded, pristine white-sand beach on the eastern side of Great Keppel Island, within the Capricornia Cays of the Southern Great Barrier Reef. A short walk over the headland from the main settlement brings you to this peaceful crescent where the fringing coral reef drops straight off the shoreline. The calm, crystal-clear waters offer exceptional shore-entry snorkelling over vibrant coral bommies, and with minimal crowds, you'll often have the reef almost to yourself. The surrounding headlands provide shelter from prevailing winds, making it a reliable snorkel spot in varied conditions.
