Sunshine Cove Beach is a sheltered, family-friendly snorkelling spot on the NSW South Coast, about 5 km south of Batemans Bay within the Batemans Marine Park. Protected from southerly swells by rocky headlands, this 400 m semi-circular beach offers calm, clear waters and a colourful pebbly shoreline. Snorkellers can explore a mix of sandy bottom, rocky reef, and seaweed beds straight off the shore, making it one of the most accessible and rewarding entry points on the Batemans Bay Snorkelling Trail.

Low risk: Southerly swell
While generally protected, strong southerly swells can cause rougher conditions and reduced visibility.
Low risk: Rocky reef edges
Rocky reef areas border the sandy sections; swimmers and snorkellers should be cautious of shallow reef edges and sea urchins.
