Streaky Bay Foreshore offers sheltered, calm-water snorkelling right off the town jetty and along the sandy shallows of this west-coast Eyre Peninsula bay. The intertidal zone features shallow granite rock pools teeming with crabs, small fish, and algae — part of the West Coast Bays Marine Park. Beyond the jetty, seagrass meadows and rocky reef habitat host schools of fish, while the protected bay conditions make it an ideal entry-level snorkel spot for families. The clear waters and easy shore access from the grassy foreshore park mean you can wade straight in and explore.

Low risk: Jetty closure
The jetty was closed for repairs during parts of 2025; check local notices before planning a snorkel entry from the jetty structure.
Low risk: Unpatrolled waters
The shoreline and granite pools are not patrolled by lifeguards. Snorkellers should exercise caution, especially around tidal changes and submerged rocks.
Low risk: Slippery rock shelf
Shallow intertidal rock pools have uneven granite surfaces and slippery algae. Wear reef shoes or booties to avoid cuts and slips.
