Smooth Pool is a stunning natural rock pool formed by a flat granite shelf on the rugged Westall Way Loop, just south of Streaky Bay on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula. Sheltered from Southern Ocean swells, the calm, crystal-clear waters create a safe, aquarium-like snorkeling environment. At low tide, the rock-lined pools reveal a colourful microcosm of crabs, small fish, seaweed, and starfish. Set against dramatic coastal views where peaceful pools meet crashing ocean waves, this family-friendly spot offers an intimate window into Great Australian Bight marine life without venturing into open water.
