The Smoky Bay swimming/snorkelling enclosure sits at the base of the historic Smoky Bay Jetty, a 100+ year-old structure rebuilt in 2012 that offers a protected, meshed swimming area on the west coast of South Australia's Eyre Peninsula. Sheltered from open-ocean swell, the calm, shallow waters inside the enclosure are ideal for beginner snorkellers and families. Just offshore, the jetty piles host a rich marine community, while rocky reefs and crystal-clear rock pools at nearby Point Brown provide excellent exploratory snorkelling — all within this quiet coastal town known for its working oyster farms and uncrowded beaches.
