Smiths Beach is a 1 km south-west facing surf beach on Phillip Island, looking out into Bass Strait. Its clear, relatively sheltered waters and extensive rock pools at low tide make it a wonderful snorkeling destination. Beneath the surface you'll find bommies, vibrant corals and sponges, large overhangs, and reef structures at both the eastern gully and western end. Part of a marine protected area, this beach offers easy shore access, consistent conditions, and a captivating underwater landscape that changes with every tide.
