Slot Cave is an enchanting sea cavern tucked along the Jervis Bay coastline in Booderee National Park on the NSW South Coast. More of a well-lit tunnel than a pitch-black cave, it runs straight through the rock with a sandy bottom at 12–14 m depth, gradually shallowing toward the back where you ascend to the surface. Coral gardens and sponge-covered walls teem with macro life in every crack, and the cavern remains surprisingly clear even when outside visibility drops. Drifting out the far side, you can follow the rock wall to Double Decker Cave or explore deeper sponge gardens rich with nudibranchs, wobbegongs, and eastern blue devil fish.

Moderate risk: Swell surge inside cave
Slot Cave requires northerly winds and low swell; southerly swells can create surge and dangerous conditions inside the narrow passage.
Low risk: Depth transition
Depth drops to 12–14 m at the entrance with a gradual shallowing toward the back — divers must monitor depth and ascent.
Low risk: Confined space navigation
The narrow cave passage requires good buoyancy control and a torch; silt can be stirred up reducing visibility inside.
