Shelly Beach is a hidden gem nestled near Thunder Point Reserve on the rugged Warrnambool coastline of Victoria's Great Ocean Road. Famous for its astonishing carpet of shells stretching up to 60 km offshore, this beach offers a unique underwater terrain of rocky reefs, crevices, and bommies. The clear waters run 5–20 metres deep, creating a natural playground for snorkelers and divers alike. Access is via a well-maintained walking track from the Thunder Point car park, rewarding visitors with dramatic coastal scenery and secluded swimming conditions.

Getting in
From Warrnambool's city centre, head south towards Thunder Point Reserve (via Merri Street). Follow the signs to the Thunder Point car park, then take the well-maintained walking track leading down to Shelly Beach. The beach is about 2 km from the Warrnambool town centre.
Ample parking is available at the Thunder Point Reserve car park, a short walk from the beach access track.
