Shelley's Beach is a sheltered sandy cove on the Sapphire Coast just north of Eden, widely regarded as one of the best beginner-friendly snorkel spots in the region. The calm, protected waters sit inside Twofold Bay, offering good visibility and easy shore access. With rocky headlands framing the beach and seagrass beds transitioning to sandy patches underwater, the site provides a gentle introduction to temperate-water snorkeling. It's a favourite local haunt for families, first-timers, and those looking for a relaxed dip without strong currents or heavy swell.

Visibility can drop after rainfall or windy periods due to sediment runoff from nearby creeks.

Low risk: Boat traffic near wharf
The adjacent old cannery wharf area can see vessel activity; stay aware and avoid the immediate wharf structure.
Low risk: Cold water temperatures
Southern NSW waters are cool year-round, especially in winter (June–August). A wetsuit is recommended.
