Nestled along the Bass Coast near Kilcunda, Shelley Beach is a sheltered cove of crystal-clear turquoise waters and fascinating rock pools that come alive at low tide. The underwater terrain reveals a detailed seabed sculpted by Bass Strait swells, with small caves and ledges to explore. It's a favourite for those seeking calm snorkelling away from the main surf breaks, though its reputation demands respect — the beach is known for treacherous rip currents outside the protected pools. The pebbly shoreline and striking coastal cliffs frame a wild, unspoilt pocket of Gippsland's coastline that feels a world away from the crowds.
