Shark Cage Beach is a beloved swimming and snorkeling spot tucked within Dampier's foreshore on Western Australia's Pilbara coast. This sheltered, enclosed beach pool was historically used as a safe swimming enclosure protected from the open ocean's larger inhabitants, hence its name. The calm, shallow waters over sandy flats and rocky groynes make it ideal for a relaxed paddle and snorkel. Fringed by palm trees with shaded picnic areas and pedestrian walkways along the Esplanade, it offers a family-friendly coastal escape with views across the Dampier Archipelago.
