Shag Rock is a sheltered snorkelling site just a 5-minute boat ride off Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island. A large granite outcrop surrounded by rocky reefs, ledges, and scattered coral gardens in depths of 5-15 metres makes it one of the area's most reliable all-weather spots. Expect to see anemonefish, pufferfish, wobbegong sharks, moray eels, octopus, and rays around the rock wall and sandy slopes. In winter, leopard sharks, manta rays, and grey nurse sharks visit the nearby cleaning station at Manta Bommie.
