Seymour Beach is a secluded, pristine stretch of sand on Tasmania's north-east coast, roughly 20 km north of Bicheno. Tucked away and reached via a short bush track, this quiet beach offers clear, temperate waters ideal for shore-entry snorkelling. Its isolation means you'll often have the beach to yourself, surrounded by coastal scrub and the rugged Tasmanian shoreline. The sheltered bay provides calm conditions when the weather cooperates, making it a peaceful spot to explore the shallow rocky reefs and sandy patches just offshore.

Know before you go

Logged by the community, confirmed by mods

  • Moderate risk: Remote Beach Isolation

The beach is isolated with no lifeguard patrol or emergency services nearby.

  • Low risk: Southerly Wind Chop

Strong southerly winds can create choppy surface conditions and reduced visibility.

  • Low risk: Cold Water Temperature

Tasmanian waters remain cold year-round; exposure can lead to rapid fatigue and hypothermia without proper wetsuit.
