Hidden on the rugged Croajingolong National Park coastline, Secret Beach is a secluded sandy pocket backed by low scrub and bordered by fascinating rock platforms. At low tide, a sea cave carved into the headland reveals itself — a highlight for adventurous snorkelers and explorers. The shallow inshore waters and rock pools teem with small reef fish and offer calm conditions on still days, while the surrounding coastal walk provides stunning views of this remote Gippsland shoreline. Accessible via a short walking trail from the Mallacoota Coastal Walk, this spot rewards those who seek out its wild, unspoilt beauty.

Moderate risk: Tide-dependent sea cave access
The sea cave is only accessible at low tide; incoming tide can trap explorers inside or block the entrance.
Moderate risk: Remote location
Limited mobile reception and no lifeguard patrol; isolation increases risk in emergencies.
Low risk: Rock platform and slippery rocks
Rock platforms adjacent to the beach can be extremely slippery when wet, especially near the sea cave.
Low risk: Surge and waves at headland
The headland near the sea cave can experience wave surge, making entry and exit hazardous in rougher conditions.
