Moderate risk: Swell and surf conditions
Salmon Rocks can only be safely snorkelled when ocean conditions are very calm. Swell and breaking waves over the reef make entry and exit hazardous.
Low risk: Sharp reef and rock edges
The rock platform and reef slots feature sharp edges and crevices that can cause cuts and scrapes.
Low risk: Changing tidal conditions
Tidal movements can affect water depth over the reef and create currents through the rock slots.
