Tucked away in the southern suburbs of Cronulla, Salmon Haul is a peaceful rocky cove overlooking Port Hacking estuary and the Royal National Park. Sheltered from ocean swells, its calm, clear waters are ideal for beginner snorkelers and divers exploring seagrass beds and rocky reef edges. A grassy reserve with playground and picnic tables sits above the beach, accessed via a short path from Glaisher Parade. Less crowded than nearby Oak Park, this hidden gem offers a quiet escape with beautiful views across the water to Bundeena.

Low risk: Rocky shore entry
Entry and exit is over a rocky shoreline rather than sandy beach — wear reef shoes or booties to avoid slips and cuts.
Low risk: Outgoing tide current
As a tidal cove on Port Hacking, outgoing tides can create a gentle current pulling toward the estuary mouth. Swim aware.
