Roberts Point Reef, part of the Point Peron headland within Shoalwater Islands Marine Park south of Perth, is a stunning limestone reef system with sheltered sandy bays perfect for snorkeling. Beginners can explore the central bay's seagrass beds at 1–3m depth, spotting cowfish, pufferfish, and crustaceans amid rocky swim-throughs. More advanced snorkelers can head to the outer reef (3–8m) where limestone formations create underwater valleys hiding octopus and weedy seadragons. Beyond the yellow marine buoy lies deeper open water (7m+) where dolphins and seals occasionally pass through. Best visited December–March when water temperatures exceed 20°C and winds are calm, the reef offers crystal-clear conditions on quiet mornings.
