Reefworld Pontoon is a large, permanently moored floating platform anchored on the sheltered western side of Hardy Reef, on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef. This purpose-built snorkel and dive hub offers easy, roped-off access to kaleidoscopic coral gardens, sheer reef walls, and clear turquoise water teeming with marine life. Hardy Reef is one of the most vibrant ribbon reefs in the Whitsundays, with fantastic coral cover and excellent visibility. The pontoon also features an underwater observatory and semi-submersible submarine, making it an ideal base for first-time reef explorers and seasoned snorkelers alike.

Moderate risk: Strong ocean currents
Outer reef conditions can change rapidly; wind and swell may create strong currents along the reef wall and around the pontoon.
Moderate risk: Marine stingers
Stinger season brings potentially dangerous marine stingers (box jellyfish and Irukandji) in the waters of the Great Barrier Reef.
Low risk: Sun exposure
The Australian sun is intense on the outer reef; reflected glare off the water increases UV exposure risk.
Low risk: Sharp coral
Sharp coral formations are present in the fringing reef areas around the pontoon; touching coral is prohibited and can cause injury.
