Tucked between striking red pindan cliffs and the turquoise Indian Ocean, Reddell Beach is a beloved local escape just 10 minutes from Broome. The stark contrast of ochre-hued cliffs against white sand and crystal-clear water creates a breathtaking setting. At high tide, the ocean laps the pindan cliffs and the red earth bleeds into the sea in a spectacular natural phenomenon. Rocky outcrops with intricate erosion patterns fringe the shoreline, and at low tide, tidal rockpools reveal diverse marine curiosities. The calm, sheltered waters make for easy shore-entry snorkeling with excellent visibility.

Moderate risk: Stinging jellyfish (box jellyfish)
Box jellyfish and other stingers may be present in warm coastal waters, particularly during the wet season.
Moderate risk: Crocodile presence
Saltwater crocodiles inhabit tropical waters of the Kimberley region; be vigilant near river mouths and mangroves.
Low risk: Unsealed access road
Kavite Road is an unsealed gravel track that can become rough or washed out after rain, limiting vehicle access.
Low risk: Strong tidal currents
The Kimberley coast experiences large tidal ranges; currents can pick up around Riddell Point during outgoing tides.
Low risk: Outgoing Tide Current
Tidal movement can create currents near the rocky outcrops, especially as the tide runs out. Best to snorkel around high tide or slack water.
Low risk: Sharp Rocky Outcrops
Eroded sandstone and rock formations along the shore and in the intertidal zone can be sharp. Reef shoes or booties are recommended.
