Ransoms Beach (often spelled Ransons Beach) lies within the Waterhouse Conservation Area on Tasmania's remote north-east coast. This wild, windswept beach offers cold-water snorkelling along a sandy shoreline backed by dunes and coastal heath. The beach provides direct ocean access to the waters of Bass Strait, known for their clear temperate conditions. It's a secluded, off-the-beaten-path spot popular with self-sufficient campers and those seeking uncrowded stretches of coast. The surrounding conservation area protects significant biodiversity and the beach is a launch point for exploring the deeper reefs offshore.
