Portland Bay Reef sits just outside Portland Harbour, a boat-only site where a rounded limestone reef drops to 10–15 metres and is alive with fish, sea dragons, and the odd crayfish. The reef's proximity to the working harbour means snorkellers must check for planned ship movements before entering the water. With often-clear water and a sheltered aspect, it's a favourite for underwater photographers who appreciate the mix of rocky structure, kelp growth, and resident marine life.
