Tucked into the west coast of Yorke Peninsula, Port Victoria Jetty Beach offers a classic jetty snorkel with easy stair access into calm, sheltered waters. The 200 m jetty's pylons are encrusted with vibrant pink, yellow and orange soft corals, attracting crabs, shrimp, pipefish, and schools of fish. Bottlenose dolphins are regular visitors, often swimming right alongside snorkellers — a truly magical experience. The site's shallow 2–8 m depth and generally gentle conditions make it ideal for beginners and families seeking an accessible, wildlife-rich underwater adventure just two hours from Adelaide.

Low risk: Strong easterly wind chop
Strong onshore easterly winds can stir up surface conditions and reduce visibility. Best snorkelled on calm days or with a southeast/easterly breeze.
Low risk: Low tide step access
At very low tide the bottom step of the jetty entry stairs may be above the waterline, making exit more challenging.
Low risk: Fishing activity
The jetty is popular with anglers; fishing lines and hooks present a snagging hazard for snorkellers near the structure.
Low risk: Changing conditions
Wind, swell and cloud cover can rapidly affect visibility and water comfort. Check BOM forecasts before entering.
Low risk: Easterly wind swell
Strong easterly winds can reduce visibility on the western side; easterly winds actually improve conditions here, but other wind directions may create choppy surface conditions.
Low risk: Fishing line and hooks
The jetty is popular with fishers; submerged fishing line, hooks, and tackle pose entanglement and injury risks to snorkelers.
Low risk: Vessel traffic
Boat traffic near the jetty entrance requires awareness; stay close to the pylons and watch for approaching vessels.
