Port Lincoln, perched on the southern tip of the Eyre Peninsula, offers superb shore-entry snorkeling in the sheltered waters of Boston Bay. Shelly Beach is the premier local spot — a calm, sandy cove with clear water, seagrass beds, and easy access to the jetty where macroalgae, reef fish, pipefish, and rays are commonly seen. The deeper waters of Lincoln National Park's protected coves (Memory Cove, September Beach) deliver crystal-clear conditions teeming with marine life, while boat tours from Port Lincoln provide unforgettable encounters with Australian sea lions and sharks. The combination of protected bays, national park beaches, and abundant marine ecosystems makes this a standout South Australian snorkel destination.
