Point Walter (Dyoondalup — "place of white sand" in Nyoongar) is a sandy point on the Swan River in Bicton, about 15 minutes south of Perth. Its iconic sandbar extends well into Melville Water, creating shallow, calm snorkeling grounds on either side. The eroded limestone shoreline meets sandy embayments, offering a mix of textures to explore. Dolphins, pelicans, and black swans are frequently seen, and the adjacent reserve has lawns, picnic spots, and a café for post-snorkel refueling.
