Point Plomer is a remote, pristine beachside spot within Limeburners Creek National Park, roughly halfway between Crescent Head and Port Macquarie on NSW's Mid North Coast. Snorkellers enter gently shelving Barries Bay, where the clear waters meet golden sands backed by lush coastal rainforest. The area is known for its world-class surf break, but the protected bay offers calm conditions ideal for swimming and snorkelling. The surrounding national park is rich with birdlife — ospreys and pied oystercatchers frequent the rocky headlands — and migrating whales can be spotted offshore in winter and spring.
