Point Addis Marine National Park, Victoria's third-largest marine park at 4,420 hectares, lies between Torquay and Anglesea along the iconic Great Ocean Road. This high-wave-energy coastline on Bass Strait features wide sandy beaches, crumbling limestone cliffs, and extensive intertidal rocky platforms. Offshore reefs, kelp forests, and rare rhodolith beds — colourful calcareous nodules formed by coralline red algae — support an extraordinary diversity of marine life. Home to the legendary Bells Beach (the annual Ripcurl Pro surfing competition), this park offers exceptional snorkelling and diving for experienced water-goers when swells permit, with chances to spot Australian fur seals, migrating whales, and the remains of the historic shipwreck 'The Inverlochy' (1902).
