Peter's Pool is a protected natural-rock snorkelling pool nestled between North and South Cottesloe Beach, just a short drive from Perth's CBD. Sheltered by a low reef that buffers the swell, the pool is shallow (typically under 2 m) and crystal-clear on calm days, making it an ideal spot for beginners and families. The sandy bottom interspersed with limestone reef patches attracts schools of reef fish, and on good days you might spot the occasional stingray cruising through. The pool is reached via a short walk from the end of Eric Street, where you'll find a sheltered cove with easy shore entry.

Low risk: Tidal Currents
Currents can push swimmers around, especially on larger tides. Best to snorkel at the change of tide or on smaller tides.
Low risk: Afternoon Sea Breeze
Westerly winds pick up around midday, creating surface chop and reducing visibility. Snorkel early for best conditions.
Low risk: Swell surge on rougher days
Although protected, winter storm swells can push into the pool, creating surge over the shallow reef edge.
Low risk: Slippery limestone rocks
The limestone reef platform around the entry point can be very slippery when wet.
Low risk: Boat traffic nearby
The area sits adjacent to boating lanes; keep aware of vessels outside the pool boundary.
