Pelican Point is the main town beach of Carnarvon, stretching 4 km along the western shore of Babbage Island on Western Australia's Coral Coast. This sheltered coastline offers calm, clear waters ideal for swimming and shore-entry snorkeling, with a fringing reef just offshore where novice snorkelers can explore coral bommies and observe small reef fish. Known locally as a favourite for fishing, swimming, and windsurfing, the beach enjoys 270-degree water surrounds and is just a short walk from the Pelican Point Waterfront Resort. The adjacent mangrove-lined estuaries of the Gascoyne River mouth add ecological interest, and the area is also a launch point for exploring further-afield snorkeling lagoons to the north.

Low risk: Shark Presence
Shark advisories have been issued in the past near Pelican Point; whale carcasses may occasionally attract larger sharks to the area.
